Alistair Parnell

Alistair Parnell, a graduate of the Royal College of Music, is based in Nottingham, UK. His multifaceted career encompasses teaching, performing, composing, arranging, and conducting. 

For over four decades, he has successfully run his private teaching studio, and he holds the position of Cisiting Scholar of Saxophone at the University of Nottingham.

As a performer, Alistair has collaborated with some of the country’s most renowned ensembles, including the CBSO and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group. He also leads two innovative ensembles: the Equinox Saxophone Ensemble and the Blackwood Clarinet Ensemble.

As a soloist, Alistair has released two acclaimed CDs, “Going Solo” and “Winter Solstice,” and is highly sought after as a recitalist. His performances have taken him across the UK, the USA, and Europe, and he has appeared at five prestigious World Saxophone Congresses.

Alistair is a leading advocate for the electronic wind instrument and is a product artist for the Roland Aerophone. In 2022 he established the iSax.Academy, an online platform to encourage and teach wind synth players from all around the world.
